Sven Hanuschek is a professor at the Institute of German Philology at the Ludwig Maximilian-University in Munich. With his latest book, a biography of Arno Schmidt, we get to understand this solitary figure’s life better. From the legal accusations of blasphemy in the 1950's; his marriage with his steadfast partner Alice Schmidt; to the development of his experimental writings, such as “Leviathan”(1949) and “Zettels Traum” (1970), among others.
